AntennaWare receives IOTE Gold Award for BodyWave™ at First Outing in Shenzhen
BodyWave™ has received an IOTE Gold Award at IOTE 2026, the 25th International Internet of Things Exhibition, held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center from 26 to 28 August 2026.
The Gold Award recognizes innovation in IoT products and is issued by the IOTE organizing committee following a judged selection from exhibits on the show floor. Sara Dalzell, Head of Marketing, accepted it on stage on behalf of the AntennaWare team.
This was the first time AntennaWare has exhibited at IOTE. We took Booth 10D95 in Hall 10, among more than 1,000 exhibitors covering the full IoT chain from sensors and modules to platforms and applications. AntennaWare is represented in the region by Danny Cheng, China Division Sales Representative.

The Technology Behind the Award
BodyWave™ delivers robust, reliable, and repeatable wireless performance on challenging platforms, like the human body. Tissue close to an antenna absorbs radiated power, shifts the resonant frequency of the antenna, and creates shadowing when the body blocks the signal path.
Propagation modes of conventional and BodyWave™ antennas
BodyWave™ works with the body rather than against it. Our SMD antenna range holds a stable impedance match on the body, maintains radiation efficiency, and propagates waves around the body’s surface rather than into it. Forward path gain measurements on a tissue-representative phantom testbed, confirmed in customer deployments, show 12 dB improvements at 1.9 GHz DECT, and 8 dB at 600MHz sub-GHz. The BodyWave™ range spans sub-GHz, 1.9 GHz DECT, 2.4 GHz BLE and ISM, and UWB.

A Packed Room at the Positioning Forum
Dr. Matthew Magill, AntennaWare CTO and Co-founder, presented at the High-Precision Positioning Technology Forum, one of the technical programs running alongside the exhibition. The session drew a full room, with questions continuing at the stand afterward.
Matthew’s talk set out the difficulties of on-body wireless communication, the measured performance of antennas on the body across a population, and what a design can recover by accounting for the platform from the start.

Talk to Our RF Experts
Designing a device to be worn on the body? Bring the antenna into the conversation before your layout is fixed.
BodyWave™ is delivered as chip-scale antennas and reference designs that drop onto existing SoC platforms. Coverage spans sub-GHz, 1.9 GHz DECT, 2.4 GHz, and 6.5 GHz and 8 GHz UWB. Our design-in consultancy is available at Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels, covering simulation, in-phantom measurement, and tuning against your own targets.
