Reliable Antenna Performance for Mission-Critical Wireless Links
The Omni-Wave™ antenna is an on-ground Surface Mount Device (SMD) antenna component with a low profile structure that is optimized for placement on metal platforms. Unlike traditional printed antennas, the Omni-Wave™ antenna is agnostic to the platform on which it is placed. It maintains omni-directional radiation over a horizontal plane when placed in close proximity to metal, achieving communication performance in line with typical monopole antennas.
Omni-Wave™ is suited to a broad range of applications where reliable, continuous connectivity is critical. The close proximity of metal typically compromises the reliability of alternative low-profile antennas. Monopole antennas are widely used for these use cases, but the form factor is sub-optimal, lacking in mechanical robustness or aesthetics. The Omni-Wave™ is optimized for IoT deployments.
360° Coverage
Standard low profile antennas experience large nulls in the radiation caused by shadowing from conductive surfaces. Omni-Wave™ helps reduce drop-out giving excellent range and reliability in unpredictable and dynamic applications.
Efficiency
The antenna has high radiation efficiency despite its low profile, even in close proximity with any surface and on conductive ground planes.
Repeatability
The Omni-Wave™ antenna is extremely resistant to detuning caused by close conductive surface proximity, a major issue with printed and chip antennas that can cause unpredictable wireless performance.
